After graduating from the Juris Doctor program at the University of Alberta Faculty of Law in 2022, Nic began his legal career at a boutique commercial litigation firm in downtown Toronto. Realizing that there truly is no place like home, Nic returned to his hometown of Edmonton, joining the Lift Legal team in 2026.

Nic is a corporate and wills and estates lawyer, leveraging his litigation experience to identify potential areas of risk and offer guidance when advising both businesses and individuals.

Nic has this to say about his approach to practice:

”I began my career in one of the largest and most dynamic markets in North America, working with corporations across a variety of industries to resolve complex matters. However, too often I felt that I was missing the sense of meaningful and tangible impact that only comes from getting to know clients and working closely with them to tailor advice and solutions to their specific needs.

I find the practice of law to be most rewarding when I can see firsthand the positive impact my work has on outcomes for my clients, whether they are individuals looking to plan for the future, or a business just getting started in an ever-changing market.

  • Business Law – Nic offers comprehensive legal services to corporations of all sizes, including general legal advice, incorporation and governance, and corporate reorganizations.
  • Contracts – Nic provides drafting and review services on a wide range of agreements, including employment contracts, independent contractor agreements, unanimous shareholder agreements, and commercial leases.
  • Estate Planning – Nic has experience drafting wills and powers of attorney, and assists clients with all aspects of the estate planning process.

  • Nic earned both his BA (2018) and JD (2022) from the University of Alberta
  • After graduating from law school in 2022, Nic completed the Ontario Law Practice Program and began his career at a boutique firm specializing in commercial litigation in the heart of downtown Toronto

  • Nic was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta. He lived in Toronto from 2022 to 2024, before moving back home to be close to his family.
  • Outside of work, Nic is an avid writer and amateur filmmaker, having co-written and starred in the University of Alberta Faculty of Law’s annual Law Show in 2021. When he’s not working on that screenplay that he swears he will finish one day, Nic enjoys winding down by playing games (video or board) with his friends, collecting movie prop replicas, and spending time with his fiancée Kristen and their pug, Bowser.
